There are 3 ways heat is transferred. Find out below.

Conduction happens when two surfaces come in contact such as a pot on the stove.  This causes heat to be transferred from the stove to the pot.

Convection is the movement of air, water, etc. such as hot air mixing with cold air or hot water mixing with cold water. The heat will seek out the coldest point causing heat transfer.

Radiant heat is an infrared energy such as the heat from the sun similar to a microwave oven operating at a lower frequency. Radiant heat is extremely powerful because it travels in all directions striking cooler objects and transferring the heat but we can learn to control it and make it work for us.
